Autumn Approaching; Upcoming Exhibition at The Folly Settle
Upcoming Exhibition
My upcoming exhibition at The Folly Settle is a collection of my oil paintings capturing the ever changing beauty of the Yorkshire Dales through the seasons and changing weather patterns.
‘Living Landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales’ starts on Saturday 27th September 2025, running through to Saturday 3rd January 2026 (revised start date). I have been working on some new landscapes in preparation for the exhibition including ‘Warrendale Knotts from Langber Lane’ which is being used as the poster image.
Living Landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales: Preview of three new paintings for the exhibition

Early Sunlight Through Flasby Woods
Every walk can reveal new tones of colours waiting for me to capture a moment, often early morning when the sun is rising and its rays highlight everything it touches. A walk through the woods at Flasby did just that, amazing me with the colour and light contrasts.

Snow on Path to Friars Head by Mickleber Hill
Winter's palette never fails to surprise me - subtle yet striking, it challenges the idea that the season is dull, revealing beauty in its quiet tones and cool light.

May at Moorside Farm
Watching the seasons unfold throughout the year is a constant source of inspiration, each bringing its own quiet drama. In May, it’s the flowering Hawthorn - especially striking here against the backdrop of Moorside Farm and the rolling Yorkshire Dales beyond.

I am delighted to share several new paintings in my exhibition 'Living Landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales', which continues through to 3rd January 2026 at The Folly Settle. This extraordinary Grade 1 listed gentry house, built in 1679, is not only home to a fascinating museum but also a welcoming coffee house - the perfect place to enjoy cake while soaking up history and art. It is a wonderful setting in which to experience the changing colours, light, and atmosphere of the Yorkshire Dales on canvas.
